Pharmacy Technician - Full Time (Grand View Campus)

Job Summary
Deliver medications, perform unit dose activities including filling patient orders and cassettes, and update ADT records. Prepare parenteral, admixture, and anti-neoplastic solutions under pharmacist supervision while maintaining aseptic technique and appropriate logs. Manage controlled substance inventory, restock CD Modules, and conduct routine medication area inspections. Perform Transitional Care Unit activities and deliver medications to patient care areas using pneumatic tube systems. Work day and evening shifts with an every-other- weekend and holiday rotation. Complete on-the-job training within six months and maintain state board registration.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six months previous hospital pharmacy experience
- Successful completion of on-the-job training in each area of the department within the first six months of employment
- Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee (required upon hire)
- Board registration as Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire
- Active status through Board of Pharmacy in the state(s) they work in
- State Registration with PA Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred upon hire)
- State Registration with NJ Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred upon hire)
- Registration application filed within 10 days of hire date (NJ)
- Minimum of six months previous hospital pharmacy experience (repeated in Training and Experience section)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 200 pounds
- Hearing as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequency
- Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, far vision, color vision and peripheral vision
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy technicians must maintain active status through Board of Pharmacy in the state(s) they work in (context implies maintenance is desired/expected for those already registered)
- PA: State Registration with PA Board of Pharmacy, as a Pharmacy Technician preferred upon hire
- NJ: State Registration with NJ Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician, preferred upon hire
- Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee is required upon hire (context implies preference for those already registered)
- Must be board registered as Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire (context implies preference for those already registered)
- Pharmacy students registered as a Pharmacy Intern in PA do not need to also register as a Pharmacy Technician (context implies preference for those already registered)
- Registration application must be filed within 10 days of hire date and the technician must be registered with the state board within 180 days of hire date (context implies preference for those already registered)
- Minimum of six months previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Requires successful completion of on-the-job training in each area of the department within the first six months of employment (context implies preference for those already trained)
