Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician - Full Time at St. Luke's Anderson Campus delivers medications and performs unit dose activities, including filling patient medication orders and cassettes, ADT updates, and floor stock management. Responsibilities include preparing IV/Admixture medications, labeling pre-mixed solutions, restocking supplies, preparing parenteral nutrition and extemporaneous compounds, conducting routine medication area inspections, maintaining records for controlled substances, and handling outpatient prescriptions. The role requires using the pharmacy computer system, communicating professionally with pharmacists, nurses, and other staff, and maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Physical duties include walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and occasional heavy lifting; a high school diploma and basic math/science coursework are required, with on-the-job training and a pharmacy math competency assessment part of the onboarding process.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, with courses in math and science
- Minimum of six months previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Successful completion of on-the-job training within the first six months of employment
- Must receive passing grade on pharmacy math competency test
- Must demonstrate understanding of pharmaceutical and medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations and general pharmacy procedures within the first six months of employment
