Job Summary
Prepare medications, count, pour, and weigh drugs for pharmacist verification while ensuring prescription accuracy and eligibility verification. Process patient checkouts, collect copayments, and resolve insurance billing exceptions. Maintain pharmacy equipment, manage cash transactions, and answer phones to support department operations. Adhere to Arizona State Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA standards, and Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist patients in finding affordable medication solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D)
- A current License as a Pharmacy Technician in accordance with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy requirements
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment
- Reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday
- Valid driver's license
- Compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements
- All employees are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment
