Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician Float responsibilities include clerical duties in the pharmacy program, assisting the pharmacist with dispensing, maintaining inventory and stock control of medications and supplies, receiving and checking shipments, processing prescriptions and pricing, and coordinating with patient assistance programs and Medicaid/managed care. The role involves interacting with patients, verifying patient information, handling billing for prescriptions and OTC items, training new staff on internet prescription programs, ensuring proper documentation in patient charts, and supporting the pharmacy team across multiple sites.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of Pharmacy Assistant or Technician program
- Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Two years clerical experience with strong secretarial/computer skills
- Experience with Medicaid and managed care insurance programs
