Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician I assists the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacists, and the Pharmacy Purchasing Agent in maintaining efficient operations of the department according to DRH policies, Joint Commission standards, and Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy rules. Responsibilities include filling and refilling patient and department prescriptions, performing basic math, assembling IVPB units, processing charges and credits in the hospital system, delivering medications, operating pneumatic tube systems, packaging medications, restocking automated dispensing machines, refilling crash carts and emergency boxes, conducting drug counts and site audits, removing expired medications, ordering drug quantities from distributors, and participating in process improvements and quality initiatives. Requires regular attendance, ongoing education, adherence to safety protocols, respirator and fit testing, and vaccinations as a condition of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Pharmacy Technician permit issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy
- 18 years old or older
