Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician who will input and process prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system for Birmingham, AL, on-site from 8:30am–5pm, Monday–Friday. Responsibilities include entering new and refill prescriptions, triaging incoming fax prescriptions, coding cycle fills, calculating dosages, maintaining accurate notes and data-entry records, and assisting with filing, packaging, inventory, and profiling as needed. Requires established accuracy and speed in data entry, ability to work under deadlines, and strong customer service via telephone. Candidates must have a Pharmacy Technician license/certification (state requirements) and at least 2+ years of related experience; National Certification (PTCB) preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and detailed problem-solving abilities are essential. The role is onsite at a closed-door Birmingham pharmacy and emphasizes teamwork, proactive communication, and adherence to pharmacy systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements)
- Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements)
- National Certification preferred (PTCB)
- 2+ years of related experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficient typing abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate with customers over the telephone
- Experience with pharmacy operating system and document imaging
