Job Summary

Fill patient prescriptions accurately while managing assigned pharmacy workstations and ensuring full compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws. Provide compassionate service to patients and customers, addressing medication needs and maintaining strict patient confidentiality. Calculate day's supply of prescriptions and resolve complex situations involving insurance and regulatory standards. Complete the extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all state Board of Pharmacy licensing requirements before expanding duties. Work in a fast-paced retail environment supporting the team's ability to promptly and safely fill prescriptions.

Required Qualifications

  • Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
  • Must be able to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
  • Must actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • Must notice and understand customers' reactions, and respond appropriately
  • Must use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues
  • Must actively listen by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Must be able to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating day's supply of a prescription
  • Must be able to judge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; recognizing there is a problem
  • Must choose the best course of action when faced with a complex situation with several available options
  • Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs; exert up to 30 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless you are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB National Certification
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
