Job Summary

Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health in a retail store setting, supporting the pharmacy team to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, patient-centered service, and adherence to SOPs. Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, assisting with immunizations when eligible, inventory tasks, drive-thru and front-end support, and providing compassionate care to patients while following regulatory requirements. Requires state licensure/certification (varies by state) and high school diploma or equivalent, with flexible scheduling and potential travel to other stores in the market.

Required Qualifications

  • Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address a minimum age, must be at least 16 years old
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Understanding and complying with relevant laws and ethical principles
  • Ability to travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed (where permissible)

Desired Qualifications

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations
  • Anticipated Weekly Hours 29
  • Experience immunizations or vaccine-related services (preferred)
  • Active state licensure or national certification (varies by state)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible scheduling including nights and weekends
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in medication labeling and prescription processing
  • Ability to follow SOPs and maintain patient privacy and safety
  • Willingness to travel to stores within the market as needed
  • Capacity to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
