Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician - Certified provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Pharmacy. Assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications, accepts new orders, handles insurance claims, prepares labels and prescriptions for mailing, maintains patient information, and supports vaccine administration as allowed by law. Maintains pharmacy and dispensing area cleanliness, adheres to HIPAA, and complies with all statutes/regulations. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and national certification as a pharmacy technician; prior experience as a technician or clerk preferred. Employment contingent on successful pre-employment drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program
- Maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred
