Job Summary
Certified Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient Ochsner Health setting delivers medications to designated areas under supervision, refills automated dispensing machines, enters and verifies physician orders, compounds IV admixtures using aseptic technique, maintains stock in the IV room and pharmacy areas, and supports pharmacists and nurses with timely, accurate medication processing and data entry. The role requires adherence to policies and procedures, competency with computer systems, strong communication, and ability to work in a hospital environment. The position is full-time and on-site in Lafayette, LA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure or National Certification
- Completion of a para-professional pharmacy training program or 1 year college
- Education or College background aligned with Pharmacy Technician role
- Knowledge of data entry and pharmacy computer systems
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in hospital setting preferred
