Job Summary
Process and dispense specialty medication prescriptions, including sterile compounding of intravenous medications, while managing inventory and performing charging and crediting functions for drug distribution. Communicate with patients regarding therapy and delivery schedules, assist pharmacists with clinical documentation, and execute routine clerical and administrative tasks under supervision. Maintain a Registered Pharmacy Tech certification and CPT-EXCPT or CPHT certification in good standing, with six months of IV compounding experience. Work at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, supporting a century-old commitment to compassionate care in a trusted medical center.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which you'll work
- Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which you'll work
- 6 months experience compounding of IV medication
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical patient care best practices and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of basic pharmaceutical mathematics and financial functions
- Strong phone, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with office equipment and ability to learn new software/database systems
- Ability to prepare and compound various medications, including intravenous admixtures
- Ability to apply pharmacy standards and procedures, including I.V. admixture and automated systems
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and establish positive working relationships
