Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacist in the procurement, preparation, dispensing, monitoring and delivering of medications; maintains records and inventories; collects and enters patient medication history into the medical record; uses pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems; restocks and documents controlled substances; repackage medications from bulk to unit-dose and ensures repackaging is checked by a pharmacist; maintains stock levels, processes invoices and records, and supports Drug Usage Evaluation and Performance Improvement efforts; requires active Pharmacy Technician certification and a high school diploma; typical shifts are alternating 7:30am–4:00pm and 10:30am–7:00pm, totaling 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified by a national pharmacy technician certification authority
- Competent math and communication skills
