Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician/Buyer at Cardinal Health supporting the PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel, FL. Provides hands-on support to the Pharmacist in daily hospital pharmacy operations, including preparation and filling of prescriptions, inventory management, processing product returns, and ensuring orders are reviewed by a licensed pharmacist with compliant recordkeeping. Works Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; responsibilities include inputting patient data into the pharmacy information management system, stocking and removing outdated items, communicating with customers for timely order fulfillment, and adhering to applicable pharmacy laws and regulations. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), Florida license as a pharmacy technician, national certification (PTCB) or ability to obtain, with in-patient hospital pharmacy and pharmacy buyer experience preferred; Pyxis experience preferred; strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills; and ability to use technology. This role operates under moderate supervision and may involve vendor credentialing.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Florida pharmacy technician license
- National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) or the ability to obtain
- In-patient hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred
- Pharmacy buyer experience highly preferred
- Pyxis experience preferred
- Ability to work well in a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets
- May require vendor credentialing
