Job Summary
Fill prescription items, package medications for dispensing, and prepare non-sterile compounding including liquids and powders. Accurately label products with cautionary and auxiliary labels while entering patient data into the computer system. Manage inventory by checking stock, removing expired medications, and handling returned drugs per protocol. Communicate professionally with internal and external customers, assist with onboarding new staff, and operate automated machines for prepacking. Work in the Controlled Drugs room, mix IV medications, sanitize equipment, and service facility-based dispensing machines. Maintain Utah Pharmacy Technician license eligibility and complete required training.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician license as required by state
- Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
- Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
- Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.
- Utah Pharmacy Technician License Required
Desired Qualifications
- Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
