Job Summary
Fill prescription items, package medications for dispensing and delivery, and accurately label products including cautionary and auxiliary labels. Prepare non-sterile compounded medications, enter patient data into computer systems, and manage inventory by checking stock and removing expired items. Handle returned medications per protocol, communicate with internal and external customers, and assist with onboarding new staff. Operate automated machines to prepack medications, mix IV medications, sanitize equipment, and service facility-based dispensing machines. Work in the Controlled Drugs room and perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned. This role supports long-term care and senior living clients within a non-retail environment, offering rotating 5-day schedules from 7am to 11pm.
Required Qualifications
- WA Pharmacy Assistant Certification
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician license as required by state
- Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
- Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
