Job Summary

Ambulatory Infusion Pharmacy Technician will provide distributive pharmacy services primarily to outpatients of MUSC clinics, ensuring timely and appropriate dispensing of infusion medication. The role includes preparation of hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products per USP 797 and USP 800 standards, reporting to the ambulatory infusion manager, and may support other ambulatory infusion pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate is a motivated team-player with strong time management and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
  • Within 6 months to obtain certification for new team members hired after 11/1/2023
  • New team members enrolled in ASHP-accredited and/or PTCB-recognized training program have 30 days post-program completion to obtain certification

Desired Qualifications

  • PHARMACY TECHNICIAN LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION
  • SCBOP registration required
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification
  • ASHP accreditation/program enrollment acceptable with deadline to obtain certification
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • 2 years of work experience
  • Ability to work in Ambulatory Infusion environment
  • Experience with USP 797 and USP 800 standards (sterile product preparation)
  • Strong time management and communication skills
