Job Summary
Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications while receiving and processing prescription requests with verified patient information. Maintain pharmacy inventory, stock supplies, and manage electronic records to ensure compliance with DHA, DoD, and HIPAA standards. Provide customer service for medication pick-ups, follow infection control protocols, and complete required orientation and training programs. Clearly identify contractor status during all facility interactions. This role supports military healthcare operations within Okinawa, Japan, ensuring safe and efficient pharmacy services under strict regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must meet all health screening, immunization, background check, and installation access requirements
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work effectively in a military healthcare environment
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program
- Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent
- Minimum experience in outpatient, inpatient, or retail pharmacy operations
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication preparation, dosage calculations, and inventory procedures
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
