Job Summary
Pharmacy technician role supporting prescription production and customer service in Loblaw Canada's pharmacies. Responsibilities include receiving customer prescriptions, gathering required information, ensuring completeness of information, maintaining patient and drug information files, verifying accuracy of products prepared, preparing prescription labels and affixing labels, reconciling accounts and handling cash, retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing and reconstitution of medications, pricing prescriptions, preparing receipts and general filing, stocking medications and supplies, maintaining perpetual inventory, and upholding patient privacy and confidentiality. Requires registered pharmacy technician certification, strong customer service skills, knowledge of relevant processes and systems (including Kroll), and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, physicians and customers. Required Qualifications
- Registered pharmacy technician certification and maintained registration with appropriate pharmacy association
- 18 years or older
- Criminal background check (as part of application process)
- Ability to receive, count, pour, weigh, measure, mix and reconstitute medications
- Strong customer service and cash handling skills
- Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and over the telephone with coworkers, supervisors, suppliers, physicians and customers
- Experience with Kroll (asset)
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy standards
- Ability to stock, rotate, and monitor medications and related supplies
- Ability to reconcile accounts and collect outstanding monies as needed
