Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist in pharmaceutical care services by preparing, processing, and compounding medications under supervision. Check nursing units for proper medication storage, repackage drugs, and scan barcodes. Order, stock, and transport pharmaceutical supplies according to pharmacy policy. Respond to patients, families, and visitors courteously while performing mathematical calculations necessary for compounding. Demonstrate competency in aseptic technique and hazardous material handling. Register with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within 45 days of employment and obtain national technician certification within one year.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Registration with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 45 days of employment
- national technician certification within one (1) year of service
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year hospital pharmacy experience
