Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician in the Oncology-Hematology department at Intercoastal Medical Group. PRN/Part-time role with weekday, 8am–5pm shifts; maintain medication stocking and ordering, prepare and mix medications, and liaise between physicians and the clinical coordinator to ensure accurate orders and stock. Will manage Drop Ship stock, communicate with vendors, maintain a clean medication/mix room, and support patient care through accurate dispensing and use of pharmacy software/EHR. Requires completion of an accredited technician program, Pharmacy Technician certification, knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, attention to detail, and strong communication skills; chemotherapy experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) as required by local regulations
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication dispensing procedures
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with healthcare regulatory requirements
- Must have previous experience with medication mixing (prefer chemotherapy experience)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
- Additional certifications or continuing education in pharmacy-related fields
