Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician III responsible for filling, preparing, and delivering medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring quality and adherence to policy. The role supports multiple general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice, demonstrates advanced technical skills, works independently with minimal oversight, participates in training of new employees, and collaborates with the healthcare team to support safe, effective, and affordable medication use. Requires strong math and communication skills, knowledge of medication names and doses, and the ability to operate pharmacy equipment; travel between facilities may be required. Shift rotation includes AM/PM with occasional 3rd shift, plus every other weekend and holidays; includes on-call responsibilities and potential remote facility travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- State registration/renewal required for Pharmacists and Technicians
- Experience: 4 years relevant experience, or 2 years required
