Job Summary
Assist Staff Pharmacists in providing professional Pharmacy services and perform in any functional area of the Department to provide accurate and efficient dispensing of medications. Requires comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy technician operations including prescription processing, insurance billing and claims troubleshooting, inventory control, and quality documentation. Must have more than three years of pharmacy technician experience, maintain CPhT status and be registered with state boards within 30 days of hire, and demonstrate advanced technician proficiency with the ability to train and mentor others. Immunization administration training and credentialing may be required within six months at designated community locations. BLS certification and a valid driver’s license are also required. Education noted as high school graduation or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent
- More than three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status and be registered with the Iowa and/or Illinois Board of Pharmacy within thirty (30) days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to train and mentor others under pharmacy leadership
- Immunization training and credentialing within 6 months when assigned to designated community pharmacy locations
- Possess or obtain required training, credentials, and competency to administer immunizations per organizational policy and state requirements
- Sterile compounding support training and cleanroom experience preferred
