Job Summary
Prepare and dispense medications according to standard procedures under a licensed pharmacist's supervision, including accurately compounding sterile intravenous hazardous and non-hazardous preparations. Maintain accurate medication and supply inventory by ordering, verifying receipt, restocking, and removing outdated medications while keeping the environment clean per guidelines. Collaborate with team members to support pharmacy department goals. Requires one year of hospital pharmacy or four years of retail experience, Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration, and CPhT certification. Must be chemotherapy trained at EAMC for at least six months.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in hospital pharmacy or four years of experience in a retail setting
- Must be chemotherapy trained at EAMC for at least 6 months and be able to work independently as determined by the supervising pharmacist
- Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or graduate from an accredited pharmacy technician training program with CPhT status if hired after June 1, 2020
- Must maintain certification
Desired Qualifications
- Hospital pharmacy with IV and chemotherapy preparation experience preferred
- Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Certificate (CSPT)
