Job Summary
Prepare and dispense medications according to standard procedure under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide quality patient care. Maintain inventory by verifying receipt, restocking, and removing outdated medications. Provide excellent customer service to physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff members while working collaboratively with the pharmacy department team. Requires Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration and a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) if licensed after January 1, 2020. One-year previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or complete an ALBOP approved technician training program within 6 months of registration
Desired Qualifications
- One-year previous experience in hospital or retail pharmacy
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT)
- graduate from an accredited pharmacy technician training program with CPhT status
