Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist in delivering safe, effective medications by rotating through ten stations, filling prescriptions, and managing patient profiles. Communicate with nursing staff regarding prior authorizations, answer phones, and proactively call clients about delays or order needs. Resolve insurance rejections, enter data accurately from electronic and handwritten orders, and maintain strict cleanliness standards. Ensure correct drug selection and quantity under supervision while documenting activities and responding to team chats. Notify supervisors of Drug Utilization Reviews and counseling opportunities, and refer patients to the PAP team for assistance. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to state board policies, and pass required drug and alcohol testing as part of this safety-sensitive role.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
- Have satisfactorily completed a pharmacy technician on-the-job training program described by OSBP
- Must be able to meet the requirements for a Pharmacy Technician permit in the State of Oklahoma
- Must be of good moral character
- Must be able to work with the public
- Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with agency personnel
- Must be able to maintain a professional manner at all times
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to document activities, write reports, business correspondence and procedure manual
- Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, clients, and the general public
- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with colleagues, clients, clients' families, public, and third party payer personnel
- Must be available for drug and alcohol testing, including random testing
- Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana
