Job Summary
Assist in medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management by compounding, labeling, and verifying orders under a licensed pharmacist's supervision. Maintain accurate inventory levels through stock monitoring, supply ordering, and regular audits while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Provide customer service by answering patient and staff questions regarding medications and pharmacy services. Maintain records of medication orders, dispensing activities, and inventory transactions in compliance with hospital policies. Participate in quality assurance activities, including storage checks and safety standard compliance. Ensure pharmacy equipment functions properly and troubleshoot technical issues. Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Stay current with pharmacy practices through ongoing training. Requires 0-2 years of hospital pharmacy experience, PHAR-C certification preferred, and knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in a hospital Pharmacy
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical practices including medication preparation, dispensing, and compounding under supervision
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal pharmacy laws
- Proficiency in inventory management techniques to maintain accurate stock levels and timely ordering of medications and supplies
- Ability to operate pharmacy equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues effectively
- Strong communication skills to provide excellent customer service and collaborate with healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented and organized to ensure accuracy in medication labeling, documentation, and compliance activities
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively to support patient care needs
- Proficiency with pharmacy-related software and basic computer skills for managing records, orders, and patient information
