Job Summary
Fills medication orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist; assists with inventory and stocking of medications in the pharmacy and patient care areas; maintains records and files; ensures medication safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards; handles routine information requests; proficient with pharmacy-based computer systems and basic software; prepares sterile products and applies basic pharmacology and drug nomenclature knowledge; emphasizes teamwork and compassionate patient care within a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or ExCPT
- Tennessee Board of Pharmacy license
- Mississippi Board of Pharmacy license (preferred)
- Good mathematical skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems
- Ability to prepare sterile products
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and health professionals
