Job Summary
Prepare, package, and distribute pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures and unit dose medications, while maintaining aseptic techniques and accurate documentation. Calculate, weigh, and compound non-sterile products under supervision, then deliver patient orders to units and process charges in the computer system. Manage inventory by rotating stock, replenishing nursing carts, and monitoring drug usage levels. Operate data systems for order entry and retrieve information while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with safety standards. Provide coverage for absences and assist students during orientation.
Required Qualifications
- National Certification such as PTCB or NHA
- TN Pharmacy Tech License
- Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent education
- Current documentation as Certified Pharmacy Technician
- License to work in state of TN as Pharmacy Technician
- At least 1 year experience
- Experience in patient care as obtained through completion of a Pharmacy Technician program
- one (1) year previous experience as Pharmacy Technician
