Job Summary
Pre-package, label, and dispense medications while refilling, loading, and troubleshooting automated dispensing machines. Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, manage inventory levels, and assist with ordering and restocking supplies. Answer telephone calls promptly, address non-clinical inquiries, and support workload demands across all pharmacy areas. Demonstrate proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and uphold patient safety and quality standards. Requires six months of continuous pharmacy experience with IV admixture, formal technician training, and Alabama State Board registration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a formal technician training program with satisfactory grades in all modules
- Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician
- Six months of continuous experience in a pharmacy position
- IV admixture experience
- Ability to read
- Ability to write
- Ability to prepare written instructions
- Ability to interpret written instructions
- Ability to make mathematical calculations
- Good communication skills
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff members
