Job Summary

Prepare sterile parenteral admixtures of chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments using ISO Class 5 containment isolators or biological safety cabinets. Perform accurate aseptic compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs while monitoring inventory for expiration dates. Document treatment regimens, dosing, and supportive care in the electronic medical record with precision. Adhere to USP 797 and USP 800 standards for safety, error prevention, and spill management. Collaborate with nursing and treatment services teams to manage extravasation and hypersensitivity reactions. Assist in clinic quality improvement measures and maintain clinical competency through ongoing education. Approach patient care with empathy and compassion while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and OSHA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Pharmacy Technician
  • One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • experience with sterile compounding
  • experience with hazardous drug
  • Knowledge of nursing and clinical systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to nursing practice
  • Knowledge of OSHA
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledge of computer hardware equipment
  • Knowledge of software applications relevant to work functions
  • Knowledge of quality metrics
  • Skill in organizing work to achieve clinical goals
  • Skill to maintain clinical competency
  • Skill to ensure that equipment and facilities are in proper condition
  • Skill to engage diverse populations
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
