Job Summary
Delivers and manages appropriate patient care by determining suitability for home care and directing daily pharmacy department activities to meet pharmaceutical-care needs. Oversees state and federal regulatory requirements, manages purchasing and security of medications and medical supplies, and designs, monitors, and evaluates patient-specific pharmacy care plans. Coordinates patient services with nursing, delivery, and reimbursement departments while providing in-service education to physicians, nurses, and technicians. Manages pharmacy staff, prioritizes workload, and participates in on-call responsibilities. Requires a current active pharmacy license, 3–5 years of infusion pharmacy experience, and willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
- Current, active Pharmacy license as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a clean room or infusion pharmacy setting OR 2 years of experience and one of the following: (a) knowledge of non-sterile compounding, and MTM (b) completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Residency Program, or (c) equivalent experience as approved by the VP of Pharmacy and/or SVP of Clinical Services
- Access to a reliable means of transportation which will enable the incumbents to make home visits to treat/attend to their patients
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of insurance
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Word
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel
- Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Willing to travel up to 5 % of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Desired Qualifications
- Post-graduate program in clinical pharmacy service
- Required certification from the Board in Nutrition Support Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy or other clinical pharmacy practice area
- At least 1 year of experience managing inventory and logistics
- Active member of a state or national professional organization
- At least 3 years of experience compounding sterile products and managing complex infusion patients
- At least 1 year of experience overseeing purchasing and inventory process of all pharmaceutical and related substances and supplies
