Job Summary
Coordinate and manage the pharmacy system for procurement, processing, distribution, and inventory control across the hospital and clinics. Develop policies, maintain records, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while participating in quality improvement, safety, and antimicrobial stewardship programs. Review and approve medication purchases, manage the formulary, and act as chairperson of the pharmacy & therapeutic committee. Administer outpatient treatments in recovery rooms, ER, OB, and floors, and serve as the state vaccine coordinator for the VFC program. Rotate Power of Attorney calls and maintain good standing as the designated pharmacy officer for OCMH.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Registered Nurse in good standing (R.N)
- Bachelor's degree preferred but significant previous experience may be accepted in lieu of bachelor's degree
- Experience with computer software and programs as well as basic functions of hospital pharmacy and the delivery of medications
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing in the State of Kansas
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Provide accurate, concise and effective oral and written communication
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Must be able to compute all necessary pharmacy calculations
- Ability to solve practical problems that deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be able to lift or move up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds

- Must become Power Of Attorney for OCMH Pharmacy
- Must rotate call with other OCMH POA
- Must certify and maintain good standing in the state of Kansas
- Must verify orders for controlled substance
- A four-week notice of resignation is required to terminate employment in good standing
