Job Summary
Manage daily pharmacy operations under the Director of Pharmacy, supervising staff workflows, ensuring compliance with USP, TJC, CMS, NYSDOH, and FDA regulations. Investigate controlled substance discrepancies, plan medication distribution to nursing stations, and oversee compounding practices and hazardous drug handling. Develop operational policies, implement performance metrics, and coordinate workforce scheduling. Maintain inventory levels, evaluate equipment, and serve as a preceptor for students and residents. Work independently to prioritize assignments and provide leadership during off-hours on-call rotations. Contribute to strategic planning and interdisciplinary initiatives to improve efficiency and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy, an MS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy
- NYS Pharmacy license
- Minimum of three years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Previous hospital pharmacy management experience in maintenance of sterile compounding suite
- Previous hospital pharmacy management experience in controlled substance handling and chain of custody
- Obtain ASHP Compounded Sterile Preparations Certificate or equivalent certificate, board certification applicable for designated personnel per USP sterile compounding within 1 month of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a PGY-2 in Administration, or similar residency/training
