Job Summary

Aids pharmacists in the processing, preparation, and dispensing of medication orders, sterile and non-sterile products, hazardous medication, TPNs, nursing supplies, and the delivery of these products to nursing units. Assists in clinical care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist by performing medication reconciliation, clinical patient care, and other clinical duties as assigned. Works an average of 12 hours/week during the school year and 32-40 hours/week over the summer. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of and compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards and other regulatory requirements, which allow safe and accurate preparation and/or compounding of unit-dose medications (both oral and IV). Completes documentation, fills and delivers unit-dose medication carts, restocks areas, inspects storage areas, assists with new medication orders, provides safe handoffs, trains new employees, participates in peer review, and completes intern projects and rotations.
