Job Summary
Conduct collaborative pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution and interactions with interdisciplinary teams under direct pharmacist supervision. Assist in accurate medication order filling, compounding, and record keeping for intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and oral medications. Operate computer systems to input orders, maintain pharmacy inventory in accordance with state and federal law, and direct customers to appropriate staff. Ensure timely distribution of prescribed medications to nursing units while reporting medication errors and participating in quality management and performance improvement initiatives. Maintain a plan for personal development and competency validation records.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Pharmacy Intern Registration - State Board of Pharmacy
- Valid Kansas and/or Missouri Knowledge Requirements
- Basic typing and word processing ability
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
