Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern role with Encompass Health in Deridder, LA. Responsibilities include inventory control and formulary maintenance in the pharmacy, ordering/receiving/storage/paperwork, narcotics inventory and sign-out, narcotics dose monitoring, floor stock and IV maintenance, ensuring accurate billing through review of pharmacy profiles, maintaining pharmacy records and inspection manuals, transferring charges to the business office, prioritizing and delivering STAT orders, entering/filling orders for pharmacist verification, and daily rounds of the emergency drug box and med dispense machines. Requires active state board registration/licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Pharmacist; enrollment in an approved PharmD program or equivalent with progress toward licensure; FPGEC considered for equivalency.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
