Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern opportunity at Encompass Health supporting inpatient pharmacy operations. Responsibilities include inventory control and maintenance according to the drug formulary, ordering and receiving, unit-dose dispensing, floor stock management, narcotics inventory, pharmacy paperwork and reporting, reviewing drug profiles for accurate billing, monitoring narcotics doses, maintaining narcotics sign-out records, ensuring proper par levels for floor stock and emergency boxes, maintaining the pharmacy inspection manual, transferring charges to the business office, prioritizing orders, entering and filling orders for pharmacist verification, and conducting daily rounds to check emergency drug boxes and dispensing machines. Requires enrollment/licensure per state board of pharmacy and ongoing progress toward licensure as a pharmacist, with opportunities for professional development and tuition assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment.
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
