Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern provides inventory control and formulary maintenance, including ordering, receiving, storage, narcotics inventory, and related paperwork; supports medication dispensing via dispense machines and unit-dose systems; maintains floor stock and narcotics records; ensures proper documentation, pharmacy reporting, and accurate billing; conducts daily rounds to check emergency drug boxes, verifies orders, and handles protected health information; collaborates with pharmacists to ensure compliance with pharmacy policy and drug schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure
