Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern role at Encompass Health focusing on pharmacy operations within an inpatient setting. Responsibilities include inventory control and formulary maintenance, dispensing and replacement of medications (including unit-dose systems and floor stock), maintaining storage and paperwork, narcotics inventory and sign-out, drug reporting and accurate billing data review, narcotics dose monitoring, maintenance of emergency drug boxes and floor stock levels, adherence to pharmacy policy, inspection documentation, transferring charges to the business office, prioritizing and processing orders, and performing daily rounds with pharmacist verification while handling PHI. The position requires eligibility for state pharmacy licensure or enrollment in an approved pharmacy program (and, in some cases, FPGEC) and supports ongoing professional development within a national inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment.
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
