Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern role at Encompass Health focusing on medication management and operational pharmacy duties. Responsibilities include inventory control and formulary maintenance, dispensing and unit-dose management, narcotics inventory and sign-out, floor stock replenishment, documentation and reporting, review of pharmacy profiles for accurate billing, ensuring medication and IV stock par levels, maintaining emergency boxes, pharmacy inspection manual, transferring charges to business office, prioritizing orders, entering and filling orders for pharmacist verification, daily rounds to check drug boxes and dispense machines, and handling protected health information. Requires state board licensure or active enrollment in an approved pharmacy program, with eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment.
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
