Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern at Encompass Health located in Reddell, LA. Assist with inventory control, formulary maintenance, dispensing operations, narcotics management, and routine pharmacy paperwork in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. Responsibilities include maintaining floor stock and IV medications at appropriate par levels, monitoring drug schedules, ensuring accurate billing and reporting, performing daily rounds of emergency drug boxes and dispense machines, entering and filling orders for pharmacist verification, and upholding patient health information privacy. Requires enrollment in an approved pharmacy professional degree program or equivalent licensure pathway with state board requirements; opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a nationally recognized post-acute care provider with benefits and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
