Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern role at Encompass Health involves providing inventory control and formulary maintenance in the pharmacy, ordering/receiving/storage of medications, dispensing machine refills, narcotics inventory management, maintaining paperwork and reporting, reviewing pharmacy profiles for billing accuracy, monitoring narcotics doses, managing narcotics sign-out records, ensuring floor stock and IV medications are at appropriate par levels, maintaining emergency drug boxes and pharmacy inspection manuals, transferring charges to the business office, prioritizing orders, entering and filling orders for pharmacist verification, conducting daily rounds of emergency drug boxes and dispense machines, and handling all PHI in line with pharmacy policies. Qualification requires State board licensure/registration, progression toward licensure as a pharmacist, or equivalent licensure status (FPGEC) for practical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment.
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
