Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern responsibilities include providing inventory control and maintenance in the pharmacy according to the drug formulary, maintaining formulary documentation, replacing medications and floor stock per policy (including narcotics inventory), handling paperwork for reporting and tracking, reviewing pharmacy profiles and drug dispensing for accurate billing, reconciling narcotics, managing narcotics sign-out records, maintaining floor stock and emergency drug boxes, and performing daily rounds and verifications with pharmacists, while handling all PHI in accordance with policy.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment.
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
