Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern with a focus on inventory control and formulary maintenance within a hospital/pharmacy setting. Responsibilities include maintaining formulary and paperwork for medication ordering/receiving/storage, replenishing medication including dispense machine refill (24-hour supply), managing floor stock and narcotics inventory, maintaining documentation for pharmacy reporting and tracking, reviewing pharmacy profiles and drug dispensed for accurate billing, reconciling narcotics and monitoring doses, managing the narcotics sign-out file, ensuring floor stock and IVs are kept at appropriate par levels, maintaining emergency drug boxes and the pharmacy inspection manual, transferring pharmacy charges to the business office, prioritizing orders based on drug schedule, entering/filling orders for pharmacist verification, conducting daily rounds of emergency drug boxes and med dispense machines, and handling all PHI generated by pharmacy operations.
Required Qualifications
- Meets State board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirement in the state of employment.
- Enrolled in a professional degree program of a school or college of pharmacy that has been approved by the Board and satisfactorily progressing toward meeting the requirements for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- A graduate of an approved professional degree program of a school or college of Pharmacy or a graduate who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination CommitteeTM (FPGEC®) Certificate, who is currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
- Qualified applicant awaiting examination for licensure or meeting Board requirements for re-licensure.
