Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health (part-time) focused on applying didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will support the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly, learn and follow SOPs, and contribute to a compassionate, patient-centered experience. Responsibilities include assisting with immunizations where permitted, counseling patients when appropriate under supervision, handling telephonic prescriptions, participating in inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns-to-stocks, providing empathetic customer service at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone, and traveling to stores in the market as needed. The role emphasizes completing a comprehensive training roadmap (KLEs), expanding clinical and technical knowledge, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while developing toward increased responsibilities within the pharmacy team.
Required Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate and pivot between tasks while maintaining patient safety and service quality
- Customer service orientation and effective communication with patients and colleagues
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention to detail for prescription information, labeling, and accuracy
- Ability to work in a retail pharmacy environment including inventory tasks and basic math
- Ability to travel to stores in the market as needed by the business (where applicable)
- Compliance with CVS policies and procedures related to patient safety and privacy
- Immunization-related responsibilities where permitted by state regulations
- Understanding of federal, state, and local laws governing pharmacy operations
