Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern role supporting CVS pharmacy teams in a part-time capacity across store operations. You will assist with prescription fulfillment, immunizations where permitted, counseling, telephonic prescriptions, and everyday pharmacy workflows under a licensed pharmacist. You will learn through a comprehensive training roadmap, gain hands-on experience across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and customer service interactions, and help maintain patient safety and service standards while developing clinical and technical knowledge. Requires enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program and maintaining appropriate intern/technician licensure with willingness to travel within the market as needed; standard SOP adherence, empathy in patient interactions, and ongoing professional development are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
- Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with patients and colleagues
- Mathematical reasoning for prescriptions (dosage, day’s supply, etc.)
- Problem resolution and handling patient/colleague interactions
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting as needed
- Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years related work experience in pharmacy/retail/customer service
- Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
- Ability to work across multiple locations to meet business needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
