Job Summary
3rd-year Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health supports pharmacy teams across workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru) to ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment and compassionate patient service. You’ll follow SOPs, counsel and assist patients, handle telephonic prescriptions, and participate in immunizations where permissible. The role emphasizes hands-on training through a comprehensive roadmap with Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), collaboration with pharmacists and technicians, and potential travel to stores in the market to support business needs. Must be enrolled or accepted into an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program and hold or be pursuing intern/technician licensure; schedules include nights and weekends; part-time hours with eligibility for benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
- Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner
- Communication Skills: verbal and written communication; active listening
- Mathematical Reasoning: use math to solve problems related to prescriptions
- Problem Resolution: handle challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Physical Demands: mobility and stamina to perform pharmacy tasks
- Immunization certification: ability to become immunization certified when state regulations met
- Ability to work in home store and across the market as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Preferred: 1+ years related experience in pharmacy/retail/customer service
- Ability to obtain immunization certification and support vaccine administration
- Willingness to travel to stores within the market
