Job Summary
Pharmacy Intake Manager oversees the daily operations of the intake department in a onsite Bardonia, NY setting. Responsibilities include managing intake staff to ensure accurate entry of patient demographics, facility information, insurance coverage (Medicaid, Medicare Part D, managed care, private pay), and billing data; coordinating communication between intake, billing, collections, pharmacy operations, and management; monitoring intake queues and backlogs; providing training and guidance to the intake team; and driving workflow improvements to reduce errors and billing delays. The role requires strong organizational and leadership capabilities, experience in healthcare operations, and effective collaboration with facilities, internal teams, and upper management.
Required Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy intake, pharmacy operations, healthcare administration, or related experience required
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred
- Experience with long-term care pharmacy, nursing homes, adult homes, or healthcare facilities is a plus
- Strong understanding of insurance verification, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, managed care, hospice, and private pay processes preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Professional and dependable work style
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, pharmacy software, and electronic record systems
- High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Pharmacy Technician License preferred
