Job Summary
Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify information is complete and accurate. Prepack bulk medications, fill bottles, type labels, and mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs while ordering, labeling, and counting stock to enter inventory data into computerized pharmacy systems. Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, and assist facilities by locating items or referring questions to the pharmacist. Establish patient profiles, manage incoming supplies, and verify quantities against invoices. Perform duties with a friendly, team-oriented approach while ensuring uncompromising cleanliness and safety. Minimal travel including overnight stay as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician as required by State regulatory requirements
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred
- One year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required
- Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products
