Job Summary
Pick medications from shelving and storage areas, then fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision. Perform accuracy checks on final preparations before presenting to the pharmacist, while assisting with pre-packing frequently ordered medications and processing returned drugs. Maintain a clean, organized workstation, replenish stock supplies, and alert the pharmacist of any scanning issues. Adhere to all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA, and comply with departmental safety and attendance policies. This 2nd shift role includes rotating weekends and potential overtime, requiring reliable, detail-focused performance with light lifting capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Able to work at a moderate speed
- Able to work during inclement weather
- Reliable
- Detail-focused with analytical problem-solving skills
- Able to physically perform light lifting
- Must be able to work various shifts and day
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Must comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
- Must follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
Desired Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy experience
- One or more years of long-term care experience
